Hello and Welcome!
We are a family of 5 living on a small farm in southern Kentucky - not far from Mammoth Cave. Here, we are producing our own all-natural pork, beef, chicken, eggs, and veggies. We have a small orchard and organic hay fields. We also make soaps and lip balms.
We still maintain a select herd of dairy goats, having switched from strictly Nigerian Dwarfs to strictly LaManchas, and finally to Mini LaManchas. We settled on the miniature LaManchas because we really enjoy the LaMancha characteristics in a smaller package. Our goats are CAE and CL negative, from strong milk and show lines, and all of our goats are registered either with ADGA or MDGA.
Our flock of chickens consist of a variety of layers (because we do LOVE those fresh eggs!) and a mixture of meat birds. We enjoy seeing all the various colors and personalities wandering around the barnyard. In the hen house, we have a few each of Barred Rocks, Easter Eggers, Red and Black Sex Links, White Leghorns, and New Hampshire Reds. Our hens free range during the day and return to the hen house to roost at night. Our heavy breed roosters and our broilers are pastured in chicken tractors for their own safety and because it helps to put them to work in specific areas while they enjoy their digging and scratching.
