  ABOUT US:

Hello and Welcome to our web site. Big Oak Farm is now located in the Mammoth Cave area of KY.  We are situated between Bowling Green and Louisville, convenient to both the Western KY Parkway and I-65.

We started with dairy goats in 2003.  We are currently raising ADGA/AGS/NDGA registered Nigerian Dwarf Dairy goats and ADGA registered LaManchas.  Miniature dairy goats are well suited for most families and/or hobby farms. They tend to have a very friendly disposition and their milk is usually higher in butterfat than the milk from their standard-sized counterparts - which makes them extremely popular not only as pets or with those who enjoy the show ring, but with home cheese makers and soap makers, too. The LaManchas are a beautiful and productive breed but due to their size we plan to keep only a select few LaManchas while we concentrate on our Nigerian Dwarf herd.

All of the goats that make the foundation of our herd are from accomplished milking and successful show herds. While we try to make a show or two every year, we aren't a serious show herd.  I am confident in the quality of the goats raised on our farm. *Please Note: We no longer provide individual goat descriptions on the website and instead have listed the pedigree and achievements of each animal along with a photo. The show and production titles of each animal in the goat's pedigree are highlighted in red and each goat's own awards are listed below the pedigree information. Please don't hesitate to contact us  with any questions you may have about the information on our site.

Herd health is extremely important to us.  Our goats are kept UTD on vaccinations, de-worming and hoof trimming. All kids are disbudded at just a few days old. We work very hard to maintain a healthy herd. To keep our numbers more easily manageable, we usually offer the majority of the kids born on our farm for sale every year. We try to keep our KIDDING SCHEDULE and FOR SALE pages up to date so check back often.
